Baby's First Fish Pie

by Charlotte Stirling Reed

"This easy-to-make mix can be eaten as either fish pie mash for baby or formed into fishcakes for the family to eat alongside your little one. It uses frozen peas plus canned pink salmon which are both economical, convenient and nutritious" - Charlotte Stirling Reed

Method

Based on 4 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Cook the peeled and cubed potatoes in simmering water until tender (about 10 mins). Add the frozen peas to the pan in the last few minutes. Drain well and mash together in the pan. Use a masher, not a blender as blending will make the potatoes gluey.

Step 2

Drain the salmon and add to the pan with the lemon zest and chopped chives. Stir everything together, mashing the salmon. The heat of the potatoes will warm the salmon which is already fully cooked.
