Air Fryer French Toast

Make French toast in an air fryer then pile on your favourite toppings.

Method

Based on 2 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Beat the egg, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon together with a pinch of salt. Pour into a shallow bowl. Heat the air fryer to 180C.

Step 2

Line the base of the air fryer basket with a sheet of baking parchment. Dredge each piece of brioche in the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated, then carefully transfer to the lined air fryer basket. Sprinkle half the demerara sugar over the top and cook for 6-7 mins, then flip and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Cook for a further 6-7 mins until crispy and golden. Serve sweet with berries and a dusting of icing sugar, or with crisp streaky bacon.

  • 1 tbsp Icing Sugar, to serve (optional) 1 x Sainsbury's Icing Sugar 1kg
  • 40ml Whole Milk 1 x Sainsbury's British Whole Milk 568ml (1 pint)
  • 1 tbsp Double Cream 1 x Sainsbury's British Double Cream 150ml
  • 0.5 tsp Vanilla Extract 1 x Sainsbury's Madagascan Vanilla Extract, Taste the Difference 38ml
  • 1 pinch Ground Cinnamon 1 x Sainsbury's Ground Cinnamon 38g
  • 2 slices Brioche, thick 1 x Sainsbury's Sliced Brioche Loaf 500g
  • 1 tbsp Demerara Sugar 1 x Sainsbury's Fairtrade Demerara Cane Sugar 500g
  • 200 g Berries, to serve 1 x Sainsbury's Strawberries 250g
