Chilli Con Carne is a beloved Mexican classic, paying homage to the legendary Chili Queens of San Antonio, who served it in the city's plazas from the late 1800's. This sauce kit combines smoky chipotle and ancho chillies, along with a hint of cocoa, to give your dish a unique depth and a rich, unforgettable flavour. Enjoy in 3 easy steps!

Method

Based on 2 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Heat 1 tbsp cooking oil in a large pan over medium heat, then add the beef and fry for 5 minutes until lightly cooked.

Step 2

Stir: Add the Capsicana Chilli Con Carne Paste and Dried Chipotle Chilli Flakes to the pan with 4 tbsp water and mix well to coat the beef.

Step 3

Simmer: Pour the Capsicana Mexican Style Tomato Sauce and kidney beans into the pan, then cover with a lid and simmer for 20 minutes until the beef is cooked through. Serve with fluffy rice and enjoy! Add a spoonful of soured cream or serve with nachos as an alternative to rice!
