A BLT Salad, but not as you know it. This isn't Streaky Bacon is a brand new product that has blown our minds. Looks like bacon, smells like bacon, taste like bacon....but it's not bacon! 100% plant-based and vegan. We had to make a recipe so you could try it for yourselves. 🥓
Method
Based on 4 servings, adjust as needed.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 210C/190C Fan. Place sweet potato on a lined baking tray in the middle shelf of your oven, drizzle with a little olive oil, season and roast for 15-20 minutes turning halfway.
Step 2
Meanwhile, prepare your salad by combining 2 lettuce heads, 4 diced tomato, 1 diced avocado and 20g chopped chives in a large salad bowl.
Step 3
Place a large frying pan onto the stove and add 1 tbsp oil. Once hot, lay in Fry 210g This isn't bacon and fry until golden and crispy, about 5 minutes turning to ensure an even colour. Remove bacon from pan and drain excess fat over kitchen paper.
Step 4
Remove pan from the heat and slowly whisk in the red wine vinegar, mustard, sugar, 2 tbsp water and a 120 ml olive oil to form a smooth emulsified dressing. Season to taste.
Step 5
Add charred sweet potato and bacon to salad bowl, followed by the warm dressing and toss to combine. Season and enjoy!
