Cheesy Ham and Broccoli Pasta

Satisfy your comfort food cravings with this cheap and easy creamy pasta dish with chunks of ham and crunchy vegetables. Simple but effective when time is not on your side.

Method

Based on 4 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the pasta following pack instructions, adding the broccoli florets to the pan for the final 4 mins. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

Meanwhile, make the sauce. Heat the oil in a large pan and cook the onion for 5 mins to soften, then stir in the garlic and cook for 1 min more. Stir in the ham, cream and mustard, then bring to the boil. Add the pasta and broccoli, then stir in the cheese, coating everything in the sauce.

  • 1tbsp Dijon Mustard, or wholegrain 1x Sainsbury's Dijon Mustard 185g
  • 300ml Double Cream 1x Sainsbury's Double Cream 300ml
  • 1 head Broccoli, cut into small florets 1x Sainsbury's Broccoli Loose
  • 250g Ham, cut into chunks 1x Sainsbury's British Honey Roast Thick Cut Ham 120g, x4 Slices
  • 1tbsp Oil 1x Sainsbury's Olive Oil 500ml
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped 1x Sainsbury's Onions Loose
  • 3 Garlic Cloves, crushed 1x Sainsbury's Garlic
  • 140g Mature Cheddar, grated 1x Sainsbury's British Mature Grated Cheddar Cheese 250g
  • 400g Pasta, we used conchiglie 1x Sainsbury's Conchiglie Shells Pasta 500g
