One-Pot Garlic Chicken

Save on the washing-up with this easy one-pot garlic chicken. Creamy and comforting, you can adjust the amount of garlic to suit your own tastes.

Method

Based on 4 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Tip the chicken into a shallow bowl and sprinkle over the flour. Season well. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat and fry the chicken, shaking off any excess flour first, for 1-2 mins until lightly golden all over. (You may need to do this in batches.)

Step 2

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Peel as many garlic cloves as you prefer, and drop these into the pan. Cook for 5 mins until the garlic has turned lightly golden, stirring to keep the chicken from burning.

Step 3

Pour in the hot stock and simmer for 10 mins until the garlic is tender. Add the cream and cheese and simmer for a further 5 mins until the sauce thickens slightly. Cook the green beans in boiling salted water now, if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes until just tender, drain and drizzle with a little oil.

Step 4

Taste the sauce for seasoning and adjust as needed. Scatter with the chopped parsley, if using, and serve hot with rice (heated according to the packet instructions) and green beans, if you like.

  • 10 Small Garlic Cloves, peeled 1x Sainsbury's Garlic
  • 250ml Hot Chicken Stock 1x Knorr Stock Pot Chicken 8x28g
  • 30g Parmigiano Reggiano, finely grated 1x Sainsbury's Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese 200g
  • 15g Flat Leaf Parsley, finely chopped 1x Sainsbury's Fresh Packed Flat Leaf Parsley 30g
  • 2 pouches Cooked Rice, to serve 2x Ben's Original Classic Long Grain Microwave Rice 220g
  • 4 Medium Chicken Breasts, skin removed, sliced crosswise into thick strips 2x Sainsbury's British Fresh Chicken Breast Fillets Skinless & Boneless 320g
  • 200g Green Beans, to serve 1x Sainsbury's Extra Fine Beans 200g
  • 50g Unsalted Butter 1x Sainsbury's British Butter, Unsalted 250g
  • Maldon Salt, to taste 1x Maldon Sea Salt Flakes 250g
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil, or rapeseed oil 1x Sainsbury's Olive Oil 1L
